Two major contemporary Slovak rappers live in Pardubice for the first time!
Edúv Syn is the pseudonym of Slovak visual artist and musician Matej Myslovič. His musical roots lie in the punk and hardcore scenes, which clearly influence his current work. He combines dark trap beats with introspective lyrics, often tackling topics like mental health, existential crises, and social critique. He’s not afraid to explore themes of suicidal tendencies and depressive states. But don't expect xanax-fueled emo-rap — Edúv Syn delivers a raw, unfiltered testimony of someone who has endured tough times and isn't afraid to expose darkness in all its destructive beauty. He doesn’t follow trends but forges his own original path. He blends darkness and emotion without falling into cheap pathos.
One of his inspirations for starting a rap career was the Czech group WWW Neurobeat, who showed him that hip hop doesn’t have to stick to mainstream formulas. His first album, Karel Gott je mŕtvy keď hralo rádio, was produced together with Fvck_Kvlt, another major figure on the Slovak scene. On his later records — 2, projekt 2023, Trap je nový punk!, and Mám červené oči lebo stále plačem — he collaborated with artists like Viktor Ori, Arleta, Dušan Vlk, Klara Wodehn, Hellwana, and the band Berlin Manson.
Another major figure of the Slovak independent scene is the rapper Adam Karásek aka Nízka Kultúra from Trnava. He describes his style as raw-post-rap. For those who know him, he’s “the guy whose girlfriend has been stuck in a crappy job for seven years to support his teenage rap dreams.” His favorite emotion is awkwardness, because only that can drown out his existential anxiety under late capitalism. These two states (along with the full range of his emotional quotient) are also reflected in the nature of his live shows, which are famous for their intensity and authenticity. Alongside established hits from his EPs Nízký Víkend and Vrany letia nízko (which famously held the number one spot for 17 weeks in the patient charts of the Zálužie mental hospital), he will also test out new material from his upcoming EP Zvonky nešťastia.

The concert is organized as part of the Textconnexion 2025 and Electroconnexion 2025 projects, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Statutory City of Pardubice, and the Pardubice Region.
